Unfortunately, watching a 3D movie isn’t as simple as buying a 3D DVD and popping it into a player. Fortunately the list of things you need is short and entering into the world of 3D isn’t much more expensive than buying the regular 2D equipment.
Here’s everything you need to watch a 3D movie:
- a 3D TV
- 3D glasses (one pair for every person watching)
- a 3D Blu-ray player (or Playstation 3 – it has a free upgrade to 3D!)
- an HDMI cable (v1.4 recommended) – You may have used a 5 pronged component cable before and had great results for HDTV but remember this is 3D TV and it passes more information at a greater speed
- finally, the 3D movie that you want to watch
Looking at that list, some of you may only need to buy a 3D TV. Some TV’s come with 3D glasses or you can buy them as a bundle. If you already have a PS3 then you’re ready to go! Of course if you are really concerned about getting everything right many stores will sell everything you need as a bundle, taking the guesswork out of buying completely.
