3D technology is here. Beginning in 2010 channels will begin broadcasting in 3D. Before you can experience this great advancement in television, you need to buy some equipment however. Unfortunately, even if you just bought a top of the line HDTV, you won’t be able to watch 3D TV without a 3DTV set, even if your satelite or cable provider broadcasts 3D channels.
What do I need?
In short, you need to have a 3D television and a set of glasses that allows you to properly see the the 3D images. If you have a 3D TV without the glasses, you can still have remarkable 2D television but you won’t see it in 3D.
What’s the difference between 3D and 3D-ready?
It all comes down to the glasses. A 3D HDTV will come with everything that you need right out of the box. 3D-ready televisions won’t come with the glasses that are required for 3D viewing. Now you may be wondering why anyone would buy a 3D-ready TV if they can’t watch 3D right away. There are a couple of reasons. First of all, 3D-ready televisions are cheaper because they don’t include the glasses. The second reason is that you may decide that you want different glasses than come standard with your 3D television set.
