Questions

When can I see Avatar 3D at home?

There is no official release date for the 3D version of Avatar.  Rumors have it being released in early 2011 but this could change at any time.  We’ll keep looking for news and will let you know when anything becomes official.

Of course you can currently by the 2D version at just about any store that sells DVD’s.  There is a special edition that is slated to be released in late 2010, most likely for Christmas.  Don’t be confused when you see this being advertised before Thanksgiving.  Unless things change, this will only be a special edition/extended edition of the movie.  The producers of this movie plan to get as much money as they can from it and there will be a third release of the movie that will be in 3D just like you saw in the theaters.

When are 3D movies coming?

If you’re a big 3D movie fan and can’t wait to experience them over and over again at home, you probably want to know when the hit 3D movies are coming out.  Unfortunately these releases have been slower than we would like but the wait is for more people to own equipment capable of watching the DVD’s in 3D.  Like many things you can expect a slew of releases around Christmas time so hang in there.  Here’s the latest that we know about:

Monsters vs. Aliens 3D, now available for purchase in a Samsung bundle  (no word on a general release however)
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, to be released in April 2010 (haven’t seen this one yet, so no clue about an actual release)
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, to be released by June 2010
Monster House, to be released by September 2010
Shrek, to be released by December 2010
Open Season, to be released by December 2010
A Christmas Carol, to be released by December 2010
Resident Evil: Afterlife, to be released by December 2010
Avatar 3D, currently unknown (rumored in 2011)
